Last night saw a rake of information and new footage pour out of San Diego Comic-Con.

With DC and Warner Bros. debuting new footage from Justice League and the Wonder Woman trailer, Marvel and Disney soon returned fire with the new trailer for Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.

The first trailer released online was, as we'd expected, Doctor Strange. As well as giving us a glimpse into the warped reality of it all, we also got a better look at Mads Mikkelsen's villain and a bit more on Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tilda Swinton's characters too.

The initial thinking was that Ejiofor - who plays Baron Mordo - was going to play the villain, as the character is Strange's arch-nemesis in the comics. By this trailer, however, that's not the case.

Take a look.

It really does look like director Scott Derrickson is taking a lot of visual cues from Inception, what with the buildings changing shape and all.

Even Michael Giacchino's score sounds a bit like the music from Inception, in fairness.

Doctor Strange hits Irish cinemas on October 28th of this year.
