If Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them wasn't already differentiating itself from the Harry Potter franchise with it's 1920s setting and a whole new set of characters then it looks like its plot will definitely do the trick.

The Harry Potter spinoff of course sees Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) on an adventure that inform much of the research that went into his book of the same name often referred to by Hermione Grainger.

Scamander brings a magical suitcase that contains many of these creatures to 1920s New York and naturally enough many of them manage to escape, leading to all sorts of chaos.

As the latest trailer which debuted at Comic Con shows, said magical creatures will catch the attention of the muggles (in particular Jon Voight) which suggests that we'll see a lot more interaction between the muggle and magic worlds than we would have seen in the Harry Potter films.
