James Mangold has been chosen by Fox and Hugh Jackman as the man to take over from Darren Aronofsky on Wolverine 2, according to Deadline.
The shortlist had apparently been whittled down to Walk the Line director Mangold, helmer of the upcoming Warrior Gavin O'Connor and Training Day director Antoine Fuqua. No mention of the brilliant Mark Romanek - who would've surely delivered a movie more similar in tone to that of first choice Aronofsky than any of the above...
The sequel will be called The Wolverine and has been scripted by Oscar winning writer, Christopher McQuarrie. Shooting will begin, its thought still in Japan, in the autumn.
