Having made headlines last week for an apparent run-in with everyone's favourite action star, The Rock, Vin Diesel has since been using his enormous social media to sound the drum on a sequel literally no one asked for, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.

Despite The Last Witchhunter dying on its hoop at the box-office, Paramount gave him the dosh to make a third film in the franchise.

“[Paramount] is so poised to do something so amazing with XXX. I was speechless after watching the movie. I felt like its been a long time coming. The spirit of individuality that plays in the movie is kind of refreshing and kind of timely… I mean the cast is sensational. You could see why they were all having so much fun, and why we had so much fun making the movie.

I don’t want to say anything negative, but I have to be honest. If there was one complaint I had about xXx the first cut, it’s too short. I wanted more… When people have been waiting fifteen years for this franchise to return, you can’t just give them an hour and a half. It’s not fair because you just want more.”

C'mon, Vin. Who has waited 15 years? You didn't wanna do a sequel after the first one came out so you were replaced by Ice Cube!

Also, most director's have to cut the film down from a first assemble. Especially with action - sequences start to feel familiar after a while.

Anyhow, DJ Caruso is directing and he knows what he's doing, so hopefully it at least has some fun moments.
