It's been reported by THR.com that JK Simmons, who played J. Jonah Jameson in the original Spiderman trilogy, is in talks to join Terminator: Genesis. The film marks the fifth chapter in the franchise and will, hopefully, bring all the storylines back into focus. 2009's Terminator Salvation was set in the apocalyptic future and set everything up for - believe it or not - the first Terminator film. Yeah, weird. Unfortunately, however, Salvation was a bit of a letdown. Christian Bale's angry ranting was more entertaining than that film, to be honest.

Anyways, JK Simmons will be playing a troubled detective who's been following Sarah Connor and her bizarre case for more than three decades. Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke has been cast as Sarah Connor, although it's not known if the original Sarah Connor - Linda Hamilton - will make a cameo appearance. She did in Terminator: Salvation, but it looks as though they're trying to put some distance on that. A Good Day To Die Hard's Jai Courtney has been cast as Kyle Reese and the Governator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is due to make an appearance as well.

Terminator: Genesis is due to start filming in the next few months and will be directed by Alan Taylor.
