Variety is reporting that the Swingers duo of Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau will team up once again for a comedy that Favreau will also pen. Long time collaborating producer of Vaughn and Favreau, Peter Billingsley, is set to direct the film, called Couples Retreat. The brilliant Jason Bateman will also play a large role in the flick which will "follow four couples who go to a tropical island resort. While one couple is there to work on their marriage, the others are there to play but soon discover that participation in the resort’s couples therapy is not optional". I've followed the careers of these guys since Swingers in 1996, and it's fantastic to see both of them doing so well. Vaughn has become one of the biggest comedy stars on the planet, while Favreau did an excellent job directing Iron Man last year, and is now firmly a top drawer director.  Any comedy that reteams the two is filed under "highly anticipated" in my brain. Both of the guys will next be seen in Four Christmases with Reese Witherspoon, while Favreau is deep into preproduction on Iron Man 2 for a planned 2010 release.
