As we reported a few months ago, Creed 2 is on its way and the story will include none other than the man who killed Apollo Creed, the Communist Übermensch Ivan Drago.

While there's been no further details on the story, it's been rumoured that the story will see Ivan Drago's son square off against Adonis Creed, played by Michael B. Jordan. It makes sense, considering Apollo Creed's death was a driving force in the first film and the themes of following in someone's footsteps is likely to play a part in its sequel.

In an interview with MMAFighting.com, Northcutt explained that he'd been asked to audition in the role of Drago's son. "Got a little audition tape so hopefully that goes through. That would be pretty neat. Being Ivan Drago’s son in the movie? That would be pretty fun. I had some friends of mine and they were talking about it with me and I just got linked up with it," explained Northcutt.

It's early days yet, of course, and Creed 2 has no confirmed release date, so it's entirely possible that there'll be some sort of open-call for actors to play Drago's son - and Northcutt is just one out of many candidates. While he might have the physical appearance down to a tee, acting is a different game entirely. Tony Bellew's character in the first film wasn't all that important to the story, so it could be a similar situation here where he's just in the background of it all.

Who do you think would be a good choice for Ivan Drago's son? Let us know in the comments!
