The Galway Film Fleadh kicked off on Wednesday with the Irish premiere of cracking Brendan Gleeson's starrer, The Guard, and there looks to be plenty more where that came from.

There are a series of ace homegrown shorts premiering at the festival, including a couple from up and coming production house, Souljacker. Excellent CGI effort Origin will screen at 2.30pm on Saturday at the Cinemobile and is very slickly directed by James Stacey. Also showing is youtube hit, The Monk and the Fly, another animated short produced by Souljacker.
