Hold the phone. Kellan Lutz could have starred as Edward Cullen in Twilight? That means the world (well, a good chunk of the female population in and around the age of 40) may never have come to obssess over Robert Pattinson. Kristen Stewart may never have lured him into her pants only to then cheat on him, break up and get back together about... 426 times.

For those of you who avoid Twilight like the plague, Kellan Lutz plays Emmet, the big muscly friendly giant who doesn't seem to have a whole lot going on between the ears.

Speaking to Access Hollywood Live, Lutz revealed: "The role [Edward Cullen] just didn't… I just didn't care to entertain it... I really wanted to play a happy role or no role for a little bit... I didn't care to audition for [the role of Edward] because he was a bit moody and emotionally challenged. But then I loved Emmett… I'm so blessed to have been able to play him."

And what does he say to the idea of another reunion, down the line?

"I love everyone. I loved to work with everyone and I loved my role... I'd love to play Emmett again or even another role in it."

Not sure there's an awful lot of people out there who'd really care to see the Twilight Saga kick off again. Soz, Kellan.

So, could you have imagined Kellan in R-Patz's place? He's probably right, he'd never have been able for the creepy (yet strangely attractive) 'you're like my own brand of heroin' poetic crap that spilled out of the mouth of Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen.
