The fourth film in the mega-grossing franchise, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 had a predictably huge opening weekend in America, where it had the fifth highest opening weekend of all time, $139.5 million.

That gross was also the second biggest of the year, and the sequel pulled in another huge $132.5 million worldwide. Box office observers expect a huge drop off in coming weeks, as fangirls would've made up the majority of the audience opening weekend, so most fans would have seen it on opening weekend and it won't show strong legs.

I personally found it the worst of the franchise by a mile - it's a horribly made film, with a ridiculous storyline.  All the good work David Slade did with Eclipse was undone in one swoop. If ever there was a franchise that was critic proof...
