Tom Cruise has been offered a supporting role in the big screen adaptation of the Broadway musical, We Will Rock You.

According to Darkhorizons.com, by way of Deadline.com, Cruise would play a crooning bartender in the film, while Taylor Swift would play the lead role of the "small town girl." Adam Shankman, who is responsible for Hairspray, is being slated to call the shots. No casting has been confirmed, but there are firm offers to both actors' camps.

Writer of the new Top Gun film, Christopher McQuarrie, has confirmed that Maverick, Cruise's character in the first flick, would once again be the lead for Top Gun 2, so the man has options. He's currently shooting Mission Impossible: Ghost Recon in Prague with Jeremy Renner.
