Remember when we got a wee bit excited at the mere mention of Mission: Impossible 5? Well, you can only imagine what we were like we heard that the Oblivion star had only gone and signed on the dotted line to star in the movie: Sure who else could front the franchise at this stage?
As per Deadline, Tom will definitely be returning to screens as Ethan Hunt for a fifth time, with his Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie in contention to direct the movie. We caught up with Chris just before Christmas, and when we asked him about the film he couldn't say anything really. However, he did hint that he had a few surprises up his sleeve in 2013. Perhaps this is one of them?
Anyway, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions will be behind the movie, and are expected to release full details about the writer, director and release time-frame soon enough. As always, as soon as we know more, you will.
