Tom and Jerry is to be turned into a movie once again, after Miramax made an unsuccessful attempt to bring the popular cartoon characters to a new generation in the early 90's. This time it won't be all cartoony, though; as the filmmakers have decided in their infinite wisdom that a production more along the lines of the recent Alvin and the Chipmunks, where CGI is melded with live action fare, would be more applicable. According to Variety, the sworn enemies will have to team-up throughout the film, when they get lost in a big city, to find their way home. That's right, the cat and the mouse, who spent decades knocking the crap out of each other with inanimate objects, will team up to hitchhike or something. At some point Tom better get hit in the back of the head with a plank of wood, or this film will be pointless.
