The Screen Actors' Guild Awards took place last night in Los Angeles, with Kristen Bell on hosting duties for the latest installment of awards season.

Although there was an expectation that Saoirse Ronan might repeat her Golden Globes success by winning Best Actress for her role in 'Lady Bird', she was pipped to the post by 'Three Billboards...' star Frances McDormand.

Other big winners on the night include Gary Oldman's portrayal of Winston Churchill in 'Darkest Hour', while 'Three Billboards' won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Theatrical Motion Picture.

In terms of the television awards, the stars of 'Big Little Lies' did well, with both Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgard picking up the gongs for 'Best Actress' and 'Best Actor' in the miniseries category, respectively.
