There is to be a sequel to last year's bucket of shite kids movie, Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief.
According to The Los Angeles Times, the first film grossed $226 million worldwide so a sequel on maybe a slightly more modest budget was always on the cards. Chris Columbus will not be returning this time, with the brilliantly named Diary of a Wimpy Kid helmer Thor Freudenthal instead calling the shots. Logan Lerman will be returning to mumble his way through another film as well.
Production is slated to begin sharpish as Fix would like a release next year.
