This week sees the release of Ben Lewin's The Sessions. The film has a star studded cast, which includes Winter's Bone star John Hawkes and screen veterans Helen Hunt, William H. Macy and Rhea Perlman

Based on a true story, The Sessions tells the poignant tale of Mark O'Brien. Trapped in an iron lung after a debilitating battle with polio, Mark wishes to lose his virginity and contacts a professional sex surrogate with the help of his therapist and priest.

Our Caroline headed to London to catch up with the movie's star and Golden Globe nominee John Hawkes, who told her how he prepared to capture the physicality of a paralyzed ma. He also revealed why  he was drawn to Mark O'Brien's story and Ben Lewin's script. They had a right old chinwag so they did, and you can watch the whole thing here.

Caroline also got chatting to Ben Lewin. The director told her why this story was so appealing and spoke about striking the balance between drama and humour when dealing with such an emotionally charged topic.

The Sessions hits Irish cinemas on Friday and you can read our review of the film right here.
