If there's one good thing to come out of this pandemic, it's that casts of great movies are all taking the time to reunite with one another.
Case in point, the cast of 'The Princess Bride' are reuniting for a special virtual script reading, with Rob Reiner directing and Patton Oswalt hosting a Q&A after. And when we say the cast, we mean everyone - bar Andre The Giant, who sadly passed away in 1993.
Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Carol Kane, Chris Sarandon, Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn and Billy Crystal are all set to take part, but it's not yet clear who'll be reading Andre The Giant's lines as Fezzik.
The livestreamed event will take place on September 13th / 14th at about midnight our time, with the event being held to raise money for the Democrat Party of Wisconsin, with people watching the livestream being asked to make a donation before being sent the link to watch.
In a statement released through the Party, Cary Elwes - who played Westley in the movie - said that "(if) America is going to have a real chance at healing we must get rid of Trump. And that is only possible if we win Wisconsin. I am thrilled to be part of this very rare reunion of my colleagues from 'The Princess Bride' as a way to increase awareness and garner resources for the state that will determine the fate of America."
'The Princess Bride', while it is an all-time classic, has become popular again in recent months. Just recently, a home-movie version was staged with numerous actors - such as Hugh Jackman, Tiffany Haddish, Paul Rudd, and more - taking on the roles of Westley, Princess Buttercup, and so on to raise money for charity. Even Rob and Carl Reiner appeared in the father and son roles, played in the original by Peter Falk and Fred Savage.
Here's the scene where Westley tells Prince Humperdinck how he's going to cut off body parts, except with Paul Rudd playing the role of Westley while Prince Humperdinck is played by Cary Elwes.
