The Best Film of the Year went to Martin Scorsese's dabbling with family features, Hugo; while Best Male Performance landed on the lap of none other than George Clooney for Oscar contender, The Descendants. Tilda Swinton was awarded Best Actress for We Need to Talk About Kevin, with Felicity Jones and Rooney Mara noted for "Breakout" work in Like Crazy and for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Movie News fixture Michael Fassbender was also given the 'Spotlight Award' for his four films this year - A Dangerous Method, Jane Eyre, Shame and X-Men: First Class.
