Bangarang!

Since the release of Hook in 1991, Peter Pan's story has had no less than three big screen outings between live action and animated films. Even his creator, J. M. Barrie has been given his own movie in 2003's Finding Neverland.

Dante Brasco, who played Rufio in Steven Spielberg's cult classic, believes it's time to look beyond the boy who never grew up and give the mohawked leader of the lost boys a chance to shine.

The actor has set up a Kickstarter page to help him fund a short film prequel to Hook, which will focus on the character of Rufio and how he came to Neverland in the first place. The film will be called Bangarang and the actor and his team are looking to raise $30,000 to make it a reality.

The project is almost at the halfway to reaching it's target and is set to keep running until March 14th. Intriguingly, they say that if they manage to raise more than $200,000 they will make a feature film rather than a short.

So what say you? Would you watch a film about Rufio? Or is the whole idea just plain sacrilege?
