The very cool sounding Irish production, The Guard, has been confirmed to be appearing at the prestigious Berlin Film Festival

The film stars Brendan Gleeson as a surly small town Irish copper, who has his nose put out of joint when Don Cheadle's FBI Agent turns up in town to investigate an international drug smuggling ring. The always excellent Mark Strong and equally impressive Liam Cunningham also pop up in the film, which was written and directed by John Michael McDonagh, whose brother, Martin previously directed Gleeson in In Bruges.

I've heard nothing about it, but still can't wait to see it. Feels like that rare breed - a classy Irish production. The cast are worth the price of admission alone.
