When it comes to teen movies there's no end of romance. These pretty young things make us sigh and, of course, give us totally realistic expectations. Why can't we all have a sparkly vampire who'll watch us while we sleep? Why don't our other halves stand outside our windows with boom boxes? Let's face it, if we're talking cinematic happily ever afters then Bella and Edward are just the tip of the iceberg. So while the Twihards flock to the cinemas to catch one last glimpse of their favourite couple we're taking a look at Ten Teen Screen Romances that made us swoon.

10. Cher and Josh (Clueless)
Together they are:
Chosh? SHUT UP!
Choice cheese: "You know you're gorgeous, alright, and popular, and um, but this is not why I come here!"

AS IF! These two might not scream teen screen romance but we dig the catty chemistry between Cher and Josh. Watching these two bicker would melt even the coldest heart. "I want to do something for humanity", she says, "how about sterilisation?" he lovingly replies. SWOON, we just love a lad who isn't afraid to slag us off. You may be buggin, but we think these two are totally awesome. We're still saving ourselves for Luke Perry mind you.

Still not convinced? Watch this.

9. Danny and Sandy (Grease)
Together they are:
Dandy! How retro.
Choice cheese: "You're the one that I want."

You know you've made it when the kids from Glee spend a whole episode fighting over who gets to copy your iconic choons. Who'd a thunk that Sandra Dee and a bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks could go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong? They might not have chemistry like Rizzo and Kenickie but this pair is definitely the one that we want!

8. Bella and Edward (The Twilight Saga)
Together they are: Bedward. Insert Breaking Dawn Part 1 pillow pun here.
Choice Cheese: "You're my only reason to stay alive. If that's what I am."

They say there's nothing quite like a girl who gives it all up for a boy who repeatedly leaves her, but we'll leave the debate about Bella’s sense of self worth aside for today. This lion and lamb melted the hearts of MILLIONS of teenage girls and a fair few mammies to boot! We suppose their off screen romance might just have added to the appeal. Chin up Team Jacob, you may be sobbing now but at least there's still plenty of Taylor Lautner to go around!

7. Diane and Lloyd (Say Anything)
Together they are: We're not even going to try and make sense of that one.
Choice cheese: Boy stands with boom box above head outside girl's window blasting Peter Gabriel tunes. Nuff said.

It’s not often that we see John Cusack’s characters get lucky with the ladies and the path to true love certainly didn’t run smooth this time around. Life just kept throwing things in front of these two and their friends and families couldn’t keep their mouths shut. But the boy with the boom box never gave up and we thoroughly enjoyed watching him try to win this fair maiden.

G'wan, have a gawk.

6. Patrick and Kat (10 Things I Hate About You)
Together they are:
Pat. Yup.
Choice cheese: "I don't hate you, not even a little, not even at all."

When Heath Ledger started dancing across that football stand we all fell head over heels in love, but it took more than a song to win the heart of Kat Stratford. This pair’s torrid love affair lit up the screen in 10 Things I Hate About You. We loved Kat and Patrick more than we loved our Skechers. Though maybe that’s just because we didn’t have a Prada backpack to fill the void. Duh.

5. Baby and Johnny (Dirty Dancing)
Together they are:
Bonny. The H is totally silent.
Choice cheese: "Nobody puts Baby in the corner."

What can you say about this iconic couple and THAT lift. We’ve watched enough wedding dance bloopers on YouTube to know that this particular pairing were a long term hit. When Baby met Johnny those sparks started flying and the girls started crying because they'd never felt this way before. We'll bet that a few boyfriends weren't exactly having the time of their life watching that one.

4. Landon and Jamie (A Walk To Remember)
Together they are:
Just don't. We can't even go there right now.
Choice cheese: "Our love is like the wind. I can't see it, but I sure can feel it."

When it comes to teen screen couples, there’s only one thing you can say about Landon and Jamie: WHY? Little did we know that Shane West and Mandy Moore weren’t the last Nicholas Sparks couple that would break our hearts. We can't even think of anything clever to say about this one, we're too busy sobbing into our ice-cream.

Dare to remember? Click here for a flashback.

3. Romeo and Juliet (Romeo and Juliet)
Together they are:
Juleo? Romiet? Shakespeare wasn’t thinking ahead.
Choice cheese: "But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun."

Baz Lurhman took the tale of these two star crossed lovers, gave it a modern edge and watched a whole new generation hope that things might just end differently this time. Even though their relationship was a total tragedy, we still love this duo. PLUS, Taylor Swift wrote a song about them! How could you possibly argue with TSwizzle?

2. Ron and Hermione (Harry Potter)
Together they are:
Hilarious.
Choice cheese: "Hey!"

Capslock does not fully express our fangirly joy when it comes to these two. It only took 7 books and 8 films worth of subliminal sexual tension for it to finally happen, but happen it did. Ron and Hermione are quite possibly one of the most infuriating couples but whether it was on screen or in the book, their hook up was definitely worth the wait!

Check out their infamous reunion right here.

1. Ally and Noah (The Notebook)
Together they are:
Every boyfriend’s worst nightmare
Choice cheese: "So it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard. We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day."

If there's one man to blame for the unrealistic expectations that women have it's definitely Nicholas Sparks. Boyfriends still bemoan the man who created Noah Calhoun and the Casting Director who picked Ryan Gosling to play him. Rachel McAdams may have offered them some consolation but THAT KISS put the nail in the coffin. Excuse us while we seek out an endless supply of chocolate and Google some nice Ryan Gosling pics for the shrine desktop background.
