A biopic of John Gotti, the famous New York mobster known as the Teflon Don, is set to hit the big screen reports Variety. Director of The Notebook, John Cassavetes, is set to take up helming duties. Gotti was one of the most notorious mobsters in the latter part of the 20th Century and earned the nickname of the Teflon Don because prosecutors could rarely make any charges stick to him. Gotti died in prison in 2002 and the film will span Gotti's rise to power, and that of his son John Gotti Jr, up to his incarceration. No word on casting yet, but the project is rumoured to be going into production at some point in the next 12 months.
