Robert Redford is taking The Sundance Film Festival outside of the US for the first time, and his first stop is London.

Redford spewed on the move, "It is our mutual goal to bring to the UK the very best in current American independent cinema, to introduce the artists responsible for it, and in essence help build a picture of our country that is broadly reflective of the diversity of voices not always seen in our cultural exports." The festival has previously held screenings outside of its home in Colorado, at various cities in America.

Redford held a press conference at The 02 in London to announce the move, which doesn't really scream independent cinema now does it? It'll all go down next year.
