Cameron Crowe has been very quiet of late, as he took time to recover from the first real disappointment of his career (the forced Elizabethtown) before making his next project. A main cast for said project has just been announced as Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon will take the lead roles in an untitled comedy from the talented writer/director. Nothing is known about the plot, but it’s good to see Stiller continuously balance proper acting with drivel like Night At The Museum, while Witherspoon is a rangy sort regardless. I’m delighted to see Crowe get back on the horse more than anything, as he’s an excellent filmmaker and the world needs more beautifully assembled character driven cinema. Film will start shooting in January, when both stars busy schedules have cleared.
