There's a Laurel and Hardy biopic on the way and it looks like it's going to have a cracker of a cast with John C. Reilly and Steve Coogan signed on to play the comedic duo.
Rather than trying to cram their whole careers into one film, Stan & Ollie will be set in the twilight years of their career and primarily focus on their farewell tour of Britain's variety halls in 1953. With their golden era now a distant memory, they're nevertheless happy to be working together again. However, Hardy isn't in the best of health and their past may yet come back to haunt them.
The script is by Philomena scribe Jeff Pope, while Filth director Jon S. Baird will be calling the shots behind the camera.
