Although 'Anchorman 2' wasn't exactly a hit with audiences, the possibility of a third 'Anchorman' is just too exciting to ignore.

In a recent interview with Variety, Brick Tamland himself - that's Steve Carell - said that he's only just waiting for the call. "If they make another one, I’ll do another one. Those are really fun. That’s just hanging out with friends and being silly," said Carell.

It was only just recently announced that Will Ferrell is bringing back Ron Burgundy for a podcast series which is due to debut in January. While the exact nature of the podcast hasn't been revealed, Carell said that he's only too happy to guest on it as needed. "Sure, if he wants me to come in and say some non-sequiturs as Brick, of course. I would in a second," said Carell.

The likelihood, of course, of a third 'Anchorman' seems pretty remote. For one, Adam McKay is off directing political biopics like 'The Big Short' and 'Vice' nowadays. Steve Carell is starring 'Beautiful Boy' with Timothee Chalamet and generally being a Very Serious Actor. Will Ferrell, he's doing the podcast, Paul Rudd's in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and David Koechner's in 'The Goldbergs' and Bill Burr's 'F Is For Family'.

Basically, they're busy guys - so don't expect this to come true any time soon.
