Stephen Moyer is one of those extremely popular TV actors who is yet to make it on the big screen for some reason. True Blood is currently HBO's most popular show, and he's a vampire in it. You'd assume that'd mean movie ker-ching as vampires are awfully popular right now.
Anyhow, according to Variety he's signed on for the lead role in Darren Lynn Bousman's latest film, The Barrens. The plot tackles the legend of The Jersey Devil, not Snookie, but rather a mythical creature with wings that looks a bit like 'Manbearpig' from South Park. In the flick Moyer will play the father of a family vacationing in the woods, when they bump into the creature and try not to be eaten.
Bousman directed a bunch of Saw sequels and the really awful Mother's Day. I am not a fan of his work, but hold out hope for a decent horror flick with 'Barrens'.
