A sequel to the new reboot of Star Trek is already in development, with a month still to go until the first film is released in cinemas. Writers Robert Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof (who co-created Lost with 'Trek' director JJ Abrams) have been brought in to flesh out a new franchise with Orci telling Empire:  "Obviously we discussed ideas, but we are waiting to see how audiences respond next month. With a franchise rebirth, the first movie has to be about origin. But with a second, you have the opportunity to explore incredibly exciting things. We'll be ambitious about what we'll do." Which basically means they're going to go nuts with the action on the next film, which is by no means a bad thing. You can have a gander at the Star Trek trailer here - there's no denying it looks a right corker, and could very well be this years Iron Man.
