Star Trek had an impressive opening bow this passing weekend in The States, as it coined a huge $76.5 million to place itself firmly atop the American box-office - pushing Wolverine into second place with $27 million. Trek is officially the best reviewed movie of the year, with a staggeringly high 96% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and is expected to show strong legs over the coming weeks, despite the foreboding presence of both Angels and Demons and Terminator: Salvation, both of which are set to open in the next two weeks. Wolverine in particular had a steep fall-off of 68%, which is considered extremely high, and the film may struggle to make it to $200 million now.
