John Carpenter's classic Escape From New York looks like it might be getting the remake treatment. The 1981 original, which starred Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken an outlaw being hunted down in Manhattan, was a success both critically and financially and New Line hope that this trend continues. Wall Street 2 writer Allan Loeb has penned a script, so the next stop is to secure a director and star. Gerard Butler has been linked with the role in the past and we think he'd be pretty good. Please, let's stay away from Hugh Jackman though.
