As per The Hollywood Reporter, the creative team behind Cancer comedy "50/50" (to be released later this year) are joining forces again for what Will Reiser describes as "something of a passion project." This project will be another comedy for Mandate. Developing the story, which will be titled 'Jamica' are Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Jonathan Levine and Will Reiser who'll be back to drawing from his own life experiences as he did for 50/50.
Levine, who took the role of director for 50/50, will do the same again for Jamaica while comedy darlings Rogen and Goldberg are attached to produce.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the script will be loosely based on a vacation that Reiser took to Jamaica with his grandmother when he was 14.
50/50, which was previously known as I’m With Cancer, and before that had no name at all, stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rogen, Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Anjelica Huston. The film will hit theatres on September 30th, 2011. Joseph Gordon-Levitt takes the lead role for 50/50 opposite Seth Rogen as a twentysomething who has been diagnosed with cancer and turns to humour to help fight against the disease.
Jamaica production and release dates are unknown as of yet.
