It would really seem like a match made in heaven, and quite frankly it is; Martin Scorsese is to direct a biopic of the late, great crooner Frank Sinatra, titled simply, Sinatra. The Goodfellas and Taxi Driver helmer had been toying with the idea of directing a film based on his life for years, but it's only now that Mandalay’s Peter Guber and Cathy Schulman have managed to obtain the rights. There is no word on casting just yet, but Variety are already speculating that Leonardo DiCaprio is being lined up to play old blue eyes. Can he even sing? What about Robert Downey Jr? Incredibly talented, and he can croon with the best of them (check out his song at the end of the excellent Kiss Kiss Bang Bang).
