Although it sounds decent to our ear, the Irish accent is regularly mangled by actors and it doesn't seem to get picked up by anyone outside of Ireland - so it could be a similar situation here.

At any rate, Saoirse Ronan dons the armour, the hairdo and the accent for period epic 'Mary Queen Of Scots', squaring off against Margot Robbie as Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the English nobility to claim Scotland as her own and independent from the United Kingdom.

The cast also includes Guy Pearce, David Tennant, and Jack Lowden (whose brother is seemingly dating Saoirse Ronan, FYI), and is written by Beau Willimon, who created Netflix's reimagining of 'House Of Cards' and is currently working on space exploration drama 'The First' for Hulu.

'Mary Queen Of Scots' arrives in Irish cinemas on January 18th, 2019.
