Ryan Reynolds is still being linked with the lead role of Connor MaCleod in the rebooted, big budgeted version of Highlander, but is yet to officially sign on say The Playlist.

Reynolds has been linked since May of this year, when Fast and Furious director Justin Lin bowed out of the project and was replaced by 28 Weeks Later helmer, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. The script being thrown around originally came from Twilight scribe Melissa Rosenberg and has been rewritten by Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Reynolds is come off of one of the biggest hits of his career (Safe House) and the biggest flop (Green Lantern), and is currently filming the Jeff Bridges co-starring action/comedy, RIPD.

The actor is obviously hesitant on committing to projects and we won't see him in a film until RIPD in June of next year.
