No, he won’t play Deckard.

With Harrison Ford already signed on to reprise his role from the original, it seems that Alcon Entertainment are beginning to find his co-stars, and they’re aiming high.

There’s been no word on what character Gosling could play, or anything to do with the storyline, but we’d be all up for a Ford vs Gosling on-screen fight, so we're rooting for him to be a villain. The film is set decades after the original, so Ford might be a little old to go all Airforce One, but it's Sci-Fi, I'm sure they can come up with a reasonable excuse to make it happen.

The sequel is to be directed by Denis Villeneuve(Prisoners, Enemy), and produced by Ridley Scott. The script is being penned by the original’s co-screenwriter, Hampton Fancher, and Michael Green. Unfortunately that’s just about all we really know about the film so far.

Shooting begins next summer, so we have plenty of time to be taken in by rumours before anything is confirmed, or before we get our eyes on the thing, but we can’t wait.
