Todd Phillips is apparently eyeing John Goodman and Robert Downey Jr for roles in the third Hangover film, which will begin filming next month.

According to Variety, Goodman is being sought by Phillips to play "an antagonist in the vein of the character Paul Giamatti played in Hangover II." The trade paper also drop names like Downey Jr and Sean Penn, but isn't clear if they're also up the same part as Goodman or if it's a different role. Mel Gibson was initially cast in the second film in a cameo role, but was replaced by Liam Neeson, who was then replaced by director Nick Cassavetes after the scene needed to be reshot and Neeson couldn't do it.

The third and final Hangover film will apparently centre on the gang trying to get Zach Galifianakis' character out of the nut house
