As cult movies go, Dazed & Confused is definitely one of our favourites.

As well as introducing us to Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Adam Goldberg and that Cole Hauser guy, it also had a fantastic soundtrack, a great script and a funny, relatable story.

Richard Linklater's since gone on to direct such hits as School of Rock, Before Sunset, Before Sunrise, Bernie and underrated gem A Scanner Darkly. Oh, and this small film called Boyhood that you probably haven't heard of.

It now looks that the veteran director is revisiting the world of Dazed & Confused with what he's described as a "spiritual sequel" set in the 1980's.

Everybody Wants Some, named after the Van Halen song, will be set in the last few days of summer leading up to college in 1980 in small-town America and follow several characters about on their daily lives.

Basically, Dazed & Confused set in the 1980s - which sounds awesome, in fairness.

The film's been under wraps and, as far as we can tell, isn't even listed on iMDB, however Linklater confirmed the film and a release date of in and around Autumn of 2015.

There IS a film called That's What I'm Talking About under his filmography, so maybe they've changed the name? We've no idea.

Nevertheless, we're excited to see what a Dazed & Confused follow-up might look like.

Here's a little reminder of the original.
