Successful commercials director, Carl Erik Rinsch, has just signed on to direct his first film and it's a biggie. Keanu Reeves will star in 47 Ronin, an 18th Century samurai epic that has been transferred to the big screen many times before - most recently in the Robert De Niro starrer, Ronin. Story is about a group of samurai who go ape-shit when their boss is made top himself... in that honourable Japanese way. Variety are saying that the budget will be massive, thus the battles epic. Rinsch was previously attached to the Alien prequel until Ridley Scott was persuaded to return by Fox; while he's also dating Scott's daughter. He's previously directed promos for BMW and Lexus.
