Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon is to star in an as yet untitled biopic of singer Peggy Lee, according to Variety.
One of the foremost jazz singers of all time, the flick will be a straight-up biopic, taking a broad look at her life, loves etc. Sleepless in Seattle and Julie and Julia director Nora Ephron will call the shots on the flick, that Witherspoon will also produce.
Not a massive fan of biopics in general; unless there's a top drawer director or innovative angle, it just seems like awards fodder. Anyhow, singing Reese Witherspoon we will get, so brace yourselves for some cinematic warbling.
