Irish comedy The Young Offenders has gotten some teaser posters and a Irish cinema release date ahead of its premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh.

The Young Offenders stars first timers Alex Murphy and Chris Walley in the lead roles of Conor and Jack.

Inspired by Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure of €440 million off the coast of Cork in 2007, The Young Offenders follows two Cork inner-city teenagers, Conor and Jock, as they embark on a 160km road trip on stolen bikes in the hopes of finding an unrecovered bale of coke.

Peter Foot wrote and directed the film having previously cut his teeth in TV with the likes of Republic of Telly as well as the video for The Rubberbandits' Horse Outside. The film, which will have its premiere on Friday the 8th of July at the Galway Film Fleadh also stars comedian PJ Gallagher and The Fear's Hilary Rose.

The Young Offenders will be released in Irish cinemas on the 16th of September.
