Paul Bart: Mall Cop was still the number one movie at the North American box-office this passing weekend, as Underworld: Rise of the Lycans opened a strong second. 'Cop' coined a strong second week of $21.5 million, while Underworld was a gnat's nut-hair behind with $20.7 million. Only other new opener was the Brendan Fraser starring fantasy effort Inkheart, which flopped with a hugely disappointing $7.7 million. There was a predictable bump in takings for the Oscar frontrunners Slumdog Millionaire and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which took a further $10.6 million and $6 million respectively.
