Who didn't see this one coming? Ever since the latest Saw movie thankfully brought that series to an undistinguished end, there has been a rather large knife wound in Paramount's Halloween release schedule. Somewhat predictably, Paramount have decided to give Paranormal Activity the franchise treatment with news hitting the wires today that Paranormal Activity 3 is set for a release next October. Director of the original movie, Oren Peli has been quoted by dreadcentral.com as saying that the 'threequel' will hit the screens on October 21st of next year. Is this good news? The first two Paranormal Activity films were infinitely better than anything offered to us over the seven films of Saw, but you have to wonder if the line between 'good film' and 'money making machine' will be blurred.
