You didn't ask for it and quite frankly you probably couldn't care less, but a sequel to the effective no-budget shocker, Paranormal Activity is on the way - with one of the directors of the Saw sequels (it doesn't really matter which one) calling the shits, sorry, I meant shots.
Oren Peli, the chap who directed the $15,000 original that went on to gross $151 million said: "these guys get it, and the fans won’t be disappointed." Peli will not be directly involved with the production, but I get the impression that this is just a case of using the name of the film, and not anything else directly linked to it anyway.
Cynical cash-in from Paramount? Yes, quite probably; but you can't really blame them when the first film made so much money. Just don't expect the second to be any good and who knows, you might be pleasantly surprised.
