Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Jason Mamoa (Auqaman) and Amy Adams (Lois Lane) will all star in The Justice League movie, which is DC Comics and Warner Bros. version of The Avengers.

With Batman V Superman happening in a couple of weeks and tracking high for the blockbuster (meaning a big opening weekend), the studio have set out a plan for movies in that universe to happen a couple of times a year for the next several years. We have Bats and Supes squaring off first, and then those mad yokes in The Suicide Squad in August.

Anyhow, The Justice League has cast its Commissioner Gordon and it's the always excellent Oscar winner, JK Simmons.

Gary Oldman played Gordon in the Chris Nolan Dark Knight trilogy and was rather great. Simmons will take the role for Zack Snyder, who is returning to that world for the third time with 'League' after Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice.

There's also a Ben Affleck-directed Batman movie in there somewhere, which could be pretty incredible.

Justice League will be on your screens in 2017.
