The Oscar Nominations are due to be announced tomorrow around lunch time, with Hollywood playing its annual guessing game over who will be invited into the wonderful world of 'I'm better than you.' The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Slumdog Millionaire should be seen as dead certs for a Best Picture nod, with David Fincher and Danny Boyle both likely to pick up nom's in the directing category as well. Elsewhere, ambiguity is rampant; Frost/Nixon, Milk, The Dark Knight, Revolutionary Road, The Changeling, Gran Torino, Doubt, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, The Wrestler and The Reader are all in with a realistic shout for best film, while the rest of the category's (screenwriting, acting etc) should mostly be taken from that list of films as well. There are always one or two surprises though, sometimes it's the omission of a certain film, sometimes it's a nod completely from left field; let's hope In Bruges at least gets a Best Original Screenplay nomination, while there's still a slight chance either Colin Farrell or Brendan Gleeson will be involved in the acting shakeup.
