Reports this morning are saying that Sony pictures are torn between former ER stars Noah Wyle and George Clooney for the part of Steve Jobs in the biopic of the late Apple founder's life.

Wyle has already played Jobs in the film chronicling his rivalary with Bill Gates, and spoke of a meeting he had one the visionary CEO after Jobs found out he'd be playing him and told Fortune Magazine: "He (Jobs) took his napkin and started sketching out the schematics and he passed the napkin around the table. The cheque soon came and we started to get up the leave - and the napkin just sat there on the table. 'I thought to myself, 'I got to take that napkin', and my hand was on it, but Steve called from the door and asked, 'Noah, you want to share a cab with me?' So I put the napkin down. I could have had an Edison original."

Wyle is currently starring in the hit series, Falling Skies, while Clooney has two Oscar contender films out; The Descendants and Ides of March. Aaron Sorkin is thought to be writing the script, with no director yet attached.
