It seems the co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book is none too pleased with the idea of casting Megan Fox as April O'Neil. Sharing his thoughts on his blog, Peter Laird made the following no holds barred statement:

"My only exposure to Megan Fox as an actress is through her role in two Transformers movies and the wretched Jennifer's Body... It may not be fair to judge her range of acting skills just from those three movies, but I think it is safe to say that there are probably hundreds of better choices for the role of April O'Neil."

He continued: "Of course, her name has promotional value, and maybe that's what they want. Who knows? I can't get myself too worked up about it."

This isn't the first time Laird has piped up about his disgust surrounding this production, having described a leaked script of Michael Bay's as 'a wretched thing'.

Ninja Turtles will hit Irish cinemas on June 6, 2014.
