The live-action remake of 'Mulan' hits cinemas in just a matter of weeks. We now have the first reactions to the latest Disney feature.

'Mulan' had its world premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood last night. It marked the first time the movie has been shown to the public.

Liu Yifei plays the titular heroine who disguises herself as a man so she can replace her father and serve in the Chinese army.

The original animated feature hit cinemas in 1998 and co-starred Eddie Murphy.

The new film's cast includes Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Jet Li, Nelson Lee, Jun Yu, Jimmy Wong, Doua Moua, Ron Yuan, Rosalind Chao, and Tzi Ma. Niki Caro directs.

An embargo is in place for critics' reviews so we'll have our take up in the next couple of weeks.

However those attending the premiere were free to tweet their thoughts on the feature. The general consensus is that it's great!

Screenrant's Mansoor Mithaiwala and Scott Mendelson from Forbes pointed out some of the film's flaws.

'Mulan' hits cinemas March 27th 2020.
