We knew it was going to be big, but truth be told we weren't really sure how big. Turns out, it's pretty f**king huge.

Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie grossed €1.02 million in its opening weekend in Irish cinemas, landing as the third highest opening for a comedy of all time (behind Ted and The Hangover 2) and topping the list as the biggest opener of 2014 so far; most impressively, though, it's the highest ever opening for an Irish film - beating Michael Collins' €650,000 opening a few years back.

Overall in the UK and Ireland the comedy took €5.3 million - topping their box-office also.

A huge success for Universal Pictures then, and pretty much ensuring that we'll see a sequel at some point in the future.
