Reports today are suggesting that Tom Cruise will reprise his role of Ethan Hunt once more in a new Mission: Impossible film. This will be the fourth instalment of the series and the first since JJ Abrams tackled the project in 2006. The very prospect of this film seemed like an impossibility as recently as last year because of a very public disagreement between Cruise and Paramount chief Sumner Redstone, over his severing of ties with Tom's production company. Abrams himself looks to be on board, but only in a production capacity with directorial duties have yet to be assigned. A release date of 2011 has been tentatively scheduled and if this film is as profitable as it promises to be, it'll push the total takings for the Mission: Impossible franchise well over the €1 billion mark.
